Benny Golson
Benny Golson is an American tenor saxophonist, composer and jazz composer tenor bebop / hard bop. He was best known for the big bands of Lionel Hampton and Dizzy Gillespie, as a writer rather than a performer, before starting his solo career. Golson is known to co-founder and co-direct The Jazztet with trumpeter Art Farmer in 1959. From the late 1960s to the 1970s, Golson was required as a choreographer for film and television. and therefore less active as an artist, but he and Farmer reformed Jazztet in 1982. In addition to "I Remember Clifford", many Golson compositions have become the jazz standard, including "Blues March", "Whisper Not" and "Killer Joe".
