Brandan Keith Wright is a former American professional basketball player who last played for the Houston Rockets of the National Basketball Association. Growing up in Tennessee, Wright quickly rose to prominence at his high school Brentwood Academy, winning three "Mr. Basketball ”, a feat that no other player of any level has ever done. After leading his high school team to four consecutive state championships, Wright was eventually drafted by the University of North Carolina to the Chapel Hill basketball team. During one season as Tar Heel, Wright was named Atlantic Coast Conference Rookie of the Year and won the All-ACC title for the second-place team. In the 2007 NBA Draft, Wright was selected as final eighth place by Charlotte Bobcats, and in one night deal the draft was distributed to the Golden State Warriors to temple keeper Jason Richardson.
