Allan Huber “Bud” Selig is an American baseball executive who is currently the Honorary Fellow of the Baseball Team. Previously, he was the ninth member of the baseball team. He was the first acting commissioner since 1992 before being appointed as a full commissioner in 1998. Selig oversaw baseball during the 1994 strike, the introduction of jokers, alternating play, and the consolidation of the National and American Confederacy under the commissioner's office. He helped organize the World Classic Baseball in 2006. Selig also introduced revenue sharing. He is credited with pivoting baseball finance during his tenure with a 400% increase in MLB revenue and breaking the annual attendance record. During Selig's service, the use of steroids and other performance-enhancing drugs became a public issue.
