Charles Edward Daniels is an American singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist known for his contributions to southern, country and bluegrass rock. He is known for his country number one hit "The Devil Went Down to Georgia". Much of his production work, including all but one of the eight Billboard Hot 100 singles, was recorded for the Charlie Daniels Band. Daniels has been active as a singer and songwriter from the 1950s until his death. He was inducted into the Cheyenne Frontier Days Hall of Fame in 2002, the Grand Ole Opry in 2008, the 2009 Musicians Hall of Fame and Museum, and the 2016 Country Music Hall of Fame.
