Eva Marie Saint is an American actress. In a career spanning over 75 years, she is best known for appearing in Elia Kazan's On the Waterfront and Alfred Hitchcock's North by Northwest. Her first film earned her an Oscar for Best Supporting Actress. After Olivia de Havilland's death in 2020, she became the oldest Oscar winner and one of the last living stars of Hollywood's golden age. She received a Golden Globe and BAFTA Award for A Hatful of Rain and won the Primetime Emmy Award for the TV series People Like Us. Her film career also includes roles in Raintree County, Exodus, The Russians Are Coming, the Russians Are Coming, Grand Prix, Nothing in Common, Because of Winn-Dixie, Superman Returns and Winter's Tale.

She studied acting and was a member of Delta Gamma Sorority while studying at Bowling Green State University.
She was nominated for a BAFTA Award for her performance in the 1957 film A Hatful of Rain.
In 1951, she married Jeffery Hayden. Their son, Darrell, was born in 1955, and their daughter, Laurette, was born in 1958. Hayden died in 2016, and they were together till then.
