Garry George McDonald AO is an Australian actor, satirist and comedian. During a career spanning five decades, he played multiple roles in theater, television and film, and was included in the National Treasure List. He is best known as the naive celebrity interviewer Norman Gunston, with whom he pioneered the technique of "ambush interview" since then, followed by many others. He received a Golden Logie Award for the Norman Gunston Show in which he developed character. He is also known for his role as the powerful Arthur Beare in the Mother and Son television series. Appointed an Officer of the Order of Australia in 2003 to serve the community in the fields of mental health and the arts as an artist, he is also a member of the board of directors of the organization mental health Australia.
