Gwynfor Richard Evans is a Welsh politician, lawyer and author. He was chairman of the Welsh political party Plaid Cymru for 36 years and was the first congressman to represent the party in Westminster, having done twice, from 1966 to 1970 and then from 1974 to 1979.
