Helen Kane is an American actress and singer. Her signature song is "I Wanna Be Loved by You", which is part of the 1928 musical Good Boy. The song was written for Good Boy by the songwriting group Kalmar and Ruby. Kane's voice and appearance is believed to be the source of the Fleischer Studios animators when creating Betty Boop. Kane tried to sue the studio for stealing his signature in the "boop-a-doop" style. However, the judge ruled that there was not enough evidence on this, thus dismissing the case.
