Jason Jeffrey Collier is an American professional basketball player with the National Basketball Association. He was the first active NBA player to die since Malik Sealy in 2000. Collier led the Catholic High School in his hometown of Springfield, Ohio, at the Ohio State Basketball Championship in 1996, for which he was named the Ohio Mr. Basketball Championship. . After leaving Indiana, he ended his college career at Georgia Tech and was drafted by the Milwaukee Bucks with the 15th overall NBA Draft 2000. He was traded on draft date with the Houston Rockets in exchange for their choice, Joel Przybilla. He went on to play for the Rockets and the Atlanta Hawks, averaging 5.6 points per game over his career. During the NBA season, Collier passed away suddenly at the age of 28 on October 15, 2005 in Cumming, Georgia. An autopsy revealed that he had died of "sudden arrhythmia due to abnormal cardiac enlargement".
