Johnn Herrick McIntire is an American actor who has appeared in 65 theater films and television series. McIntire is famous for replacing Ward Bond after Bond's sudden death in November 1960, becoming the star of NBC's Wagon Train. He played the role of Christopher Hale, the conductor of a wagon train from early 1961 until the series ended in 1965. He also replaced Charles Bickford, after Bickford's death in 1967, owned the Clay Grainger ranch on NBC's The Virginian for four seasons.
