Elena Sergeevna Katina, better known as Lena Katina, is a Russian singer and songwriter who is best known for her work with the Russian duo t.A.T.u. She started her career at the age of 8, joining Russia's Children's Digital Avenue, shortly after joining Neposedi. In 1999, producer Ivan Shapovalov chose Lena Katina for his project, t.A.T.u., as well as Julia Volkova. The duo later became Russia's most successful pop artist. The group created several hits including "All the Things She Said", "Not Gonna Get Us" and "All About Us". Their debut single "All The Things She Said" reached number one in 19 countries, including the UK, Russia and Australia. In 2009, Katina started her solo career, making t.A.T.u. to rest. In 2011, Katina and Volkova officially split up to pursue a solo career. That year, Katina released her first major single "Never Forget", in 2011 reached number 1 on the MTV Russia Top 10 and also won the MTV Russia - 2011 Video of the Year.
