Théodore Clovis Edmond Lemartin, known as Léon Lemartin was the pioneer pilot to set a world record on February 3, 1911 in Pau, France, carrying seven passengers in a Blériot XIII Aerobus. He then carried eight, eleven and thirteen passengers the following month. He is also known as the world's first professional test pilot. Son of a blacksmith, in 1902, he graduated from Gadz'Art, engineer "Arts and Crafts" of the National School of Arts and Crafts - prestigious university specializing in engineering. His career in aviation has consisted of working with Gabriel Voisin, the Seguin brothers, Henri Farman, Ernest Archdeacon and Louis Blériot.
