Leslie Odom Jr is an American actor and singer. He made his Broadway debut in 1998 and first recognized for his role as Aaron Burr in the Hamilton musical, he earned him the Tony Award for Best Actor in a musical comedy and a Grammy for Best Musical Album of 2016. Odom is also known for roles in the TV series Smash and Person of Interest, as well as films Murder on the Orient Express, Harriet and Hamilton. Odom is currently voicing the character Owen Tillerman in the Apple TV + Central Park animated musical comedy series, for which he was nominated for an Emmy Award in 2020. With her performance as singer Sam Cooke in One Night in Miami ..., Odom has been nominated for an Academy Award, a BAFTA Award, a Critics Choice Award, a Golden Globe Award, and The Screen Actors Association Awards, among others .

Broadway, television and film actor whose best known stage role was as Aaron Burr in the musical Hamilton, earning him a nomination for a 2015 Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Featured Actor in a Musical. He was also well known as Sam Strickland in NBC's Smash.
He studied musical theater at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, PA. His debut Broadway role came at the age of 17 when he played Paul in Rent.
He has had re-occurring roles on television in CSI: Miami, Vanished, Big Day, Person of Interest and Law & Order: SVU. He released a self-titled jazz album in August of 2014.
Born in Queens, he grew up in Philadelphia, and moved to Los Angeles in 2003. In 2012 he married Nicolette Robinson; they welcomed a daughter named Lucille in April 2017. In November 2020, he revealed that they're expecting their second child together, a son.
He starred alongside Jonathan Groff in the musical Hamilton.
