Lewis Leavell Walker is the US representative from Kentucky. Born in Lancaster, Kentucky, Walker attended Lancaster Academy, Garrard College in Lancaster, Ky., And Central University, Richmond, Ky. He studied law. He was called to the bar in 1894 and began practicing in Lancaster, Kentucky. He is also involved in banking. He served as Garrard County Attorney in 1901. Walker served as Lancaster City Attorney from 1907-1910. He was a Fellow of the University of Kentucky, Lexington, Kentucky from 1908 to 1915. He was a judge of the 13th Judicial District of Kentucky in 1910 and 1911. Walker was elected Republican at the Seventh Congress. He was not a candidate for reappointment in 1930. Walker stood before and succeeded his seat in Congress by the same person, Democrat Ralph Waldo Emerson Gilbert. Walker continued to practice as a lawyer in Lancaster, Kentucky, until his death on June 30, 1944. He was buried at Lancaster Cemetery.
