Loretta Young is an American actress. Beginning as a child actress, she had a long and varied film career from 1917 to 1953. She won the Academy Award for Best Actress for her role in The Farmer's. Daughter and received a second Oscar nomination for his role in Come to the Stable. Young switched to relatively new television media, where she had an anthology series, The Loretta Young Show, from 1953-1961. The series won three Emmy Awards and was successfully replayed on daytime television and was subsequently released. In the 1980s, Young returned to the small screen and won the Golden Globe for her role on Christmas Eve in 1986 .
