Nolberto Albino "Ñol" Solano Todco, commonly known as Nobby Solano, is a retired Peruvian professional footballer who played in midfield. He is currently the Deputy Director of the Peruvian National Football Team, as well as the Director of the Peru Olympic Football Team. His talents in football range from precise crosses to perfect deadball skills and he has often played either on the right side of midfield or in a right-back position during his career. Solano has spent most of his career in the Premier League, where he is often associated with Newcastle United. He became the first Peruvian to play in the Premier League and make the FA Cup final. He is considered a cult hero at the Tyneside Club, and is also known for his ability to play the trumpet and form his own salsa group The Geordie Latinos. He describes himself as an “adopted Geordie”.
