Roy Mitchell Kinnear is an English character actor. He is known for his roles in films directed by Richard Lester; including Algernon in The Beatles' Help !, Clapper in How I Won the War and Planchet in The Three Musketeers He reprized the role of Planchet in the 1974 and 1989 sequels and died in an accident while filming the sequel. He is also known for his role as Private Monty Bartlett in The Hill, Henry Salt in the 1971 film Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory, and Curtain travel director in Juggernaut. Kinnear made his stage debut in 1955 and rose to fame in the BBC satirical comedy series That Was the Week That Was in 1962. He went on to appear on numerous British television comedy shows, including The Dick Emery. Show, and in the sitcom The Man About the House, George and Mildred and Cowboys.
