His children's books are classics; one reviewer rated "a gift of flexible and bright narrative." Kipling, in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, is one of the UK's most famous writers. Henry James said: "Kipling personally rated me as the most perfect man of genius, as opposed to the great intelligence I have ever known." In 1907, he received the Nobel Prize for Literature, was the first English-speaking writer to receive the award and at the age of 41, the youngest recipient to date.
