Sean Forbes is an American deaf hip-hop artist. Sean was deaf from meningitis when he was only a few months old. The cause has never been officially diagnosed, but Sean says they are suspected of having meningitis. Sean's parents bought him drums when he was 5, and he started writing songs and playing guitar when he was 10. Sean grew up playing music with his siblings. His father, Scott Forbes, is a country rock band in Detroit called The Forbes Brothers. Sean's mother is a pianist. “They've played everything from The Rolling Stone to The Beatles, to the music of big bands and others. Sean attended R.I.T./NTID, where he obtained a bachelor's degree in multidisciplinary studies, focusing on management, accounting and communications. Eminem was one of the first to watch one of Forbes music videos. Sean's longtime collaborator and producer Jake Bass, and together they wrote over 100 songs, many of which were performed live.
