Sylvi Listhaug is a Norwegian Progress Party politician who served as Norwegian Minister for Aging and Public Health under Prime Minister Erna Solberg from May to December 2019. In addition, she also served as Norwegian Minister for Oil, Gas and energy from December 2019 to January 2020. Listhaug was the Norwegian Prime Minister for Immigration and Integration from 2015 to 2018, a post created especially during the European migrant crisis and the five ministers of Agriculture and Food from 2013 to 2015. She was Minister of Justice, Public Safety and Immigration from January. 2018 until she resigned in March 2018. Originally from the rural town of Ørskog in Sunnmøre, she started her political career in Oslo as Commissioner for City Protection and Social Services. As Minister of Immigration and Integration, Listhaug reduced the number of asylum seekers in Norway from 30,000 in 2015 to 2,000 in 2017.
