Teko Tsholofelo Modise, nicknamed The General, is a retired South African professional footballer who played in midfield and is currently an employee of the Cape Town City Football Club. Today, regarded as one of the greatest PSL players of the modern era, Modise's career began in the lower divisions of South African football with Ria Stars and City Pillars. During his later career, he won the Mvela Golden League Player of the Season award, which earned him a stint at the top of Superpsort United in 2006. He joined local rival Orlando Pirates, who has spent six years winning two PSL Player of the Year awards, including an opening award and two club-level titles. When he played for the Pirates, he earned the nickname "Old General" for his ability to lead the game and quickly became a regular player on the national team.
