Arthur Alexander "Aljoscha" Rompe is the lead vocalist of the East German group Feeling B. The group started in 1983 as part of a second wave of underground punk that operated outside of the state-approved music scene. By the time East Germany exploded in 1989, Feeling B had grown into one of the most popular groups in the country. Shortly after the fall of the Berlin Wall, Rompe co-founded the political party Wydoks, which wanted to reclaim public property on the former GDR and to oppose the takeover of the country by "those with money", ie West Germans. . He and the members were on the same page as punk squatting in the streets of Mitte and Prenzlauerberg in East Berlin. Rompe made films, ran pirate radio stations, and crouched throughout his life.
