Artūras Zuokas is a Lithuanian politician. He is the president of the Lithuanian political party for freedom. He was mayor of Vilnius from 2000 to 2007 and again from 2011 to 2015. From 2008 to 2009, he was a member of Seimas. Zuokas graduated from Jonava's first high school. He then became a freelance correspondent for the Independent Television News as a war correspondent in Iraq, where he recorded the bombing of the Baghdad TV tower during the First Gulf War. In August 1991, he brought new photos taken from the site of the Medininkai massacre to an official meeting between US President George H. W. Bush and Soviet President Mikhail Gorbachev in Moscow have raised concern in the United States about the use of force against liberty-seeking states.
