Charles Thomas Fisher is an American businessman and automotive pioneer. Born in Norwalk, Ohio, Charles is the second son of Lawrence and Margaret Fisher. The family will grow to include seven boys and four girls. At the turn of the 20th century, Fred was the first eldest son to move to Detroit, where an uncle, Albert Fisher, founded Standard Wagon Works in the latter part of the 1880s. A year later, Charles Fisher joined his brother. CR The Wilson Company, a carriage body maker, just started making car bodies for car manufacturers. With the fledgling automotive industry on its way to becoming a major industry, on 23 July 1908, Charles and Fred Fisher founded the Fisher Body Company with their uncle Albert. They soon brought their five brothers into the business.
