Nathaniel Thomas Wilson, known by his stage name Kool G Rap, is an American rapper from Queens. He started his career in the mid-1980s as one half of Kool G Rap & DJ Polo and a member of the Juice Crew. He is often considered one of the best and most influential MCs of all time, as well as a pioneer of rap / street / hardcore mafioso and polyphonic content. On the album The Giancana Story, he said that the "G" in his name means "Giancana", but at other times he said it means "Genius". He is also considered a major influence on some of hip-hop's most critically acclaimed characters such as The Notorious B.I.G., Nas, Eminem and Jay-Z, as well as many underground rappers.
