Lawrence Gordon Williams is a Republican member of the United States House of Representatives, representing the 7th District of Pennsylvania. Williams was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He moved to Philadelphia in June 1922. He studied at the Drexel Institute of Technology. He is a member and chairman of the board of Springfield Town, Pennsylvania. He worked for Curtis Publishing Company from 1936 to 1966 and retired as an assistant to the senior vice president in charge of production. He served in the Army Air Force during World War II. He was Representative of the County of Delaware on the Penn-Jersey Transportation Research Policy Committee, 1959-1966, the Delaware Valley Regional Planning Commission, and the Southeast Pennsylvania Transportation Authority. He is a former president of the Pennsylvania State Association of Commissioners. He was elected in 1966 as a member of the 90th Republican and to the next three terms of the National Assembly.
