Richie Edwards is an English musician. He is a former bassist of British hard rock band The Darkness and guitarist / vocalist of successor band Stone Gods. He was confirmed as a member on June 13, 2005, replacing Frankie Poullain on bass. When The Darkness disbanded after Justin Hawkins left, Edwards moved on to lead with Toby McFarlaine on bass. With original Darkness members Ed Graham and Dan Hawkins completing the new roster, they recorded under the new name The Stone Gods. Edwards grew up in Lichfield, Staffordshire and is a member of the Netherstowe School groups. Later, out of school, he worked for S&J Music, a local music store on Bird Street, and joined other local bands, including Gloy, who almost signed a co-recording. This work eventually led to London becoming a guitar technician. It is said that when he was young his hero was John Deacon, Queen's bassist.
