Naomi van As is a Dutch hockey player who plays as a striker / midfielder for Dutch club MHC Laren. She made her debut for the Dutch national team on June 20, 2003 against South Africa. She was part of the Dutch team that became world champions at the 2006 Women's World Cup of Hockey, also the 2007 Champions Cup winner. Her family lives in South Africa 2008 Naomi van As becomes gold medalist Olympic with his national team at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, scoring his first goal in a 2-0 victory over China. At the 2012 Summer Olympics, she was once again a member of the Dutch team that won the gold medal. She ended her international sports career at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro in the final penalty shoot-out loss to England. In 2009 and 2016, she was named FIH Player of the Year. Since 2007, Van As has had a relationship with long distance skater Sven Kramer, and they have a daughter born in 2018 .

She is a midfielder/forward who is well-known for her international career with the Dutch national team. At the 2008 and 2012 Summer Olympics, she won gold in field hockey.
