David Ben-Gurion
David Ben-Gurion was the first founder of the State of Israel and the first Prime Minister of Israel. He was the elite leader of the Jewish community in the Palestine Commission of England from 1935 until the founding of the State of Israel in 1948, which he ruled until 1963 with a brief hiatus in five years. Ben-Gurion's passion for the Renaissance, which began at a young age, made him a major Renaissance leader and CEO of the World Renaissance Organization in 1946. As head of the Jewish Authority since 1935, and then as executive chairman of the Jewish Authority, he is the de facto leader of the Jewish community in Palestine and has largely waged the struggle of Mandatory for an independent Jewish state in Palestine. On May 14, 1948, he formally proclaimed the State of Israel and was the first to sign the Declaration of Independence of Israel drafted by him.
