Kane Takeshi Kosugi is a Japanese and Chinese-American martial artist, actor, and media figure. The son of martial arts movie star Sho Kosugi, Kane began his career as a child actor with his father in films such as Revenge of the Ninja and Pray for Death. He was first recognized in Japan for playing Jiraiya in Ninja Sentai Kakuranger, titled the first sentai senshi born in the United States. He has appeared in over 30 movies and TV series, including video game adaptations of DOA: Dead or Alive and Street Fighter Alpha. He competed in five seasons of the Sasuke obstacle course, where he was the first American competitor. Like his father, Kosugi has appeared in the Japanese and American media. In Japan, Kane is considered a tarento gaijin due to his Nisei heritage of foreign origin.
