Alison Redford
Alison Merrilla Redford, is a Canadian lawyer and former politician. She is the 14th premier of Alberta, served from October 7, 2011 to March 23, 2014. Redford was born in Kitimat, British Columbia and raised across Canada and abroad before moving to moving to Calgary as a teenager. In the 2008 provincial election, Redford was elected Commissioner of the Calgary-Elbow District Legislative Council. She served in Ed Stelmach's cabinet as Attorney General and Attorney General. Redford became premier when she won the leadership of the Progressive Conservative Association of Alberta, and on April 23, 2012, led her party to victory in the 2012 provincial election. the history of the province and the eighth woman to serve as premier in Canadian history.
