Alan Shaxon is a professional magician and former president of the Magic Circle. He specializes in variety shows and is considered one of Britain's best magicians. Magic Circle awarded Shaxon the "The Masllionsne" award for his service to British Magic. He has appeared on television, traveled the world in commercials on luxury cars, and entertained four times at Buckingham Palace. He was a friend and confidant of magician and inventor Robert Harbin, and inherited many Harbin props after his death in 1978. Shaxon continued to perform a number of Harbin illusions, including the "Blades of Opah II". Typical Shaxon effects include Hydrostatic Glass, Conflict, Thumb Tied, Aerial Fishing, and Human Gas Meter. Shaxon appeared as a guest on Series 9 of The Paul Daniels Magic Show, which aired in 1988. He appeared as the character "Eddie Spangle" in the 1991 episode of Mr. Bean "Mr. Bean. Goes to Town ", with Rowan Atkinson.
