Allan Haines Lockheed, born Allan Haines Loughead, is an American aviation pioneer and engineer. He founded the Alco Hydraulic Aircraft Company with his brother, Malcolm Loughead, which would later become the Lockheed Corporation. Loughead legally changed its name to Allan Lockheed in 1934. He then founded two more aircraft manufacturing companies in the 1930s. Both failed. After World War II, he continued his career as a real estate salesperson while occasionally working as an aeronautical consultant. Allan Lockheed maintained an informal relationship with the Lockheed Aircraft Corporation until his death in 1969 in Tucson, Arizona.
