Brian Joseph Winters is a former American basketball player and coach. He attended Archbishop Molloy High School in Queens, New York, where he graduated in 1970. He then played college with the University of South Carolina and was the 12th choice in NBA Draft in 1974, by Los Angeles Lakers. He was part of the NBA All-Rookie team with the Lakers and was later traded with the Milwaukee Bucks as part of the deal that brought Kareem Abdul-Jabbar to the Lakers. He has had a successful nine-year career, including two NBA All-Star Game appearances and six playoffs. Winters averaged 16.2 points and 4.1 assists during his career, which his best years were from 1975 to 1979, when he averaged over 19 points and less than a 5 bit. assists per game. His number 32 was retired by the Bucks.
