David Packard
David Packard is an American electrical engineer and co-founder, with Bill Hewlett, of Hewlett-Packard, as president, CEO and chairman of the board of directors of HP. He was the United States' Under Secretary of Defense from 1969 to 1971 under the Nixon administration. Packard was president of the Medical Science College of Unified Services from 1976 to 1981 and chairman of the school's board of trustees from 1973 to 1982. He was formerly a member of the tripartite commission. Packard was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 1988 and is recognized for his many technological innovations and charitable efforts.
