Graham Greene
Henry Graham Greene was an English writer and journalist considered by many to be one of the greatest British novelists of the 20th century. Combining literary fame and widespread popularity, Greene was soon became known as a great writer, both serious Catholic novels and horror movies. He was selected, in 1966 and 1967, for the Nobel Prize in Literature. Over the course of 67 years of writing, including over 25 novels, he has explored the surrounding political and ethical issues of the modern world. He received the Shakespeare Prize in 1968 and the Jerusalem Prize in 1981. He converted to Catholicism in 1926 after meeting his future wife, Vivien Dayrell-Browning. He later called himself a "Catholic agnostic." He died of leukemia in 1991 at the age of 86, and was buried in Corseaux Cemetery.
