Jimmy Doolittle
James Harold Doolittle is a United States Army general and an aviation pioneer. He quickly flew from coast to coast, won numerous flight races, and helped develop the flight of musical instruments. Doolittle attended the University of the University of California at Berkeley, received a BA in Literature in 1922, and a Doctorate in Aviation from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1925. He served as a flight instructor during World War I and a reserve officer for the United States Army Air Force, but was recalled to serve in the military during World War II. He received the Medal of Honor for his personal courage and leadership as commander of the Doolittle Raid, a daring long-range retaliation airstrike on several of Japan's major islands. Ban on April 18, 1942, four months after the attack on Pearl Harbor. The raid was a huge mental mover in the US and Doolittle was hailed as a hero.
