John McCallister
John McCallister is a Northern Ireland Unionist politician. In 2007, elected to the Northern Ireland Parliament as a member of the Ulster Unionist for South Down Party. On February 14, 2013, McCallister announced that he had resigned from the UUP due to his decision to enter into an electoral treaty with the Democratic Union Party. He co-founded the NI21 party with former UUP member Basil McCrea but resigned the following year due to a dispute with McCrea. He ran for an independent seat again in the 2016 election, but lost his seat, receiving just 2.8% of the vote.
