Lesley Stahl
Lesley Rene Stahl is an American leftist activist. She has spent most of her career on CBS News, where she started working as a producer in 1971. Since 1991, she has reported on CBS 60 Minutes. She is known for her award-winning surveys and reporting on foreign news and television. For her work, she won various press awards including Lifetime Achievement News and the 2003 Emmy Award for Documentary Film for her overall excellence in reporting. Before joining 60 Minutes, Stahl was a White House correspondent for CBS News - the first woman to hold the position - during the presidencies of Jimmy Carter and Ronald Reagan and part of George H. W. Bush's tenure. His reports have appeared regularly on CBS Evening News, first with Walter Cronkite, then with Dan Rather, and on other CBS News shows. During most of that time, she was also the moderator of Face the Nation, CBS News Sunday's publicity program from September 1983 to May 1991.
