Ljube Boškoski, known to his followers as "Brother Ljube", is a Macedonian politician and former Minister of the Interior of North Macedonia. He oversees an elite specialized tactical unit of the Macedonian Police as Minister of the Interior. Boškoski will then be charged with "superior responsibility" by the ICTY for war crimes, but will be acquitted of all charges. On his return to Macedonia, Boškoski and his supporters split from VMRO - DPMNE to form United for Macedonia, which was seen as a strong candidate in the 2011 parliamentary elections, but did not win any seats in the country. On June 6, 2011, the day after the elections, he was arrested by police and detained by the court for allegedly illegally sponsoring the election campaign. He is currently in prison, serving a seven-year sentence for illegally sponsoring the campaign and abusing his position during his party's 2011 campaign.
