Obrad Gluščević is a Yugoslav and Croatian director. He has written and directed around 20 documentaries, 5 feature films and 2 television series. Born in Metković, Gluščević began performing in theaters in the nearby city of Dubrovnik. His first notable works were live documentaries and short films made in the 1950s and 1960s, some of which won awards at film festivals in Venice, Cannes, Oberhausen and Belgrade. In the mid-1960s, Gluščević transitioned to feature film director and directing three comedy films depicting life in rural Dalmatia: Lito vilovito, Čovik od svita and Goli čovik. After that, he made two children's films. Mikula Mali continued to be developed into a TV series that aired in 1976. Gluščević was also the author of the popular Yugoslav children's television series Jelenko in 1980, produced by Radio Zagreb television. Gluščević received the Vladimir Nazi Prize for his film work in 1978, two years before his death in September 1980.
