Robert N. Audi is an American philosopher whose main work focuses on epistemology, ethics, rationality and theory of action. He is Professor of Philosophy O'Brien at the University of Notre Dame, and previously served as President at the School of Business. His 2005 book, The Good in the Right, updated and strengthened Rossian's intuition and developed ethical epistemology. He has also written important works on political philosophy, in particular on the relationship between Church and State. He was the past president of the American Philosophical Association and the Association of Christian Philosophies. Audi's contributions to epistemology included his defense of indecent fundamentalism. Audi extended its theory of justification to non-doxastic states, for example desires and intentions, by developing a comprehensive account of rationality.
