Sir Roger George Moore is an English actor. He is known as the fictional agent James Bond in the Eon Productions series, playing the character in seven feature films from 1973 to 1985. Moore was the third actor to play the role and seven appearances in The role of Bond, Live and Let Die to A View to a Kill, is the most cast in Eon-produced entries. On television, Moore starred Simon Templar, the protagonist of the British television series The Saint. He also starred in a number of American television shows and movies in the late 1950s and early 1960s, including replacing James Garner and playing Beau Maverick in the Maverick series. Moore starred with Tony Curtis in The Persuaders! television series from 1971 to 1972, and played a number of theaters in the 1970s and 1980s. Moore was appointed UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador in 1991 and knighted by Queen Elizabeth II in the year. 2003 for his work for charities.
