Stephen K. Lundquist is a former American competitive swimmer, Olympic gold medalist and former world record winner. At the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles, he won a gold medal in the 100 meter frog swim and 400 meter relay. Lundquist was the first swimmer to break two minutes in the 200 yard frog swim and win all the 100 yard frog swimming events he played between 1980 and 1983. At the age of 17, he broke his first world record and in his career he set a new American and world record 15 times. He broke the world record 100 meters of frog swimming for the first time in 1982 and kept it until 1989, except for a month in 1984 when John Moffet beat it in June at trials at the US Olympic Games. . He also held the world record at the individual 200 meters distance in 1978. He set the US record in the 100 meter and 200 meter frog swim and 200 meter individual range.
