Susan Peters is an American film, theater and television actress who has appeared in more than 20 films during her decades-long career. Although starting her career in uncredited and confusing roles, she would grow into a serious dramatic actress in the mid-1940s. Born in Spokane, Washington, Peters was raised by her widowed mother in Portland, Oregon and later in Los Angeles. After graduating from high school, she studied theater with Austrian director Max Reinhardt and signed with Warner Bros. Pictures. She appeared in several seasons before earning a small supporting role in the Santa Fe Trail. She is directing her latest movie for Warner Bros. in 1942, the film noir The Big Shot opposite Humphrey Bogart and Richard Travis; After being released, Warner decided not to renew the contract. In 1942, Peters appeared in a supporting role in Tish, allowing him to sign with Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer.
