Vanessa Lee Carlton is an American singer, songwriter and pianist. After graduating from the American Ballet School, Carlton chose to pursue singing, performing in New York bars and clubs instead during his college studies. Three months after recording the demo with producer Peter Zizzo, she signed with A&M Records. She started recording her album, which initially failed until Ron Fair took over. Her first single, "A Thousand Miles", entered the top 5 on the Billboard Hot 100 charts in 2002. Her debut album, Be Not Nobody, followed and received platinum certification in the United States. His subsequent albums, Harmonium and Heroes & Thieves, could not match the commercial success of the first. She produced a fourth album, Rabbits on the Run, independently before searching for a label to release it. Carlton released a holiday EP titled Hear the Bells in November 2012 and released their fifth studio album, Liberman, on October 23, 2015 .
