Vasko Vassilev is a Bulgarian violinist and conductor. At the age of eight, he made his public debut and released his first record with Sofia Philharmonic Orchestra. At the age of 10, he began his studies on a scholarship from the Bulgarian government at the Moscow Central Music School, a junior faculty of the Moscow Conservatory of Music. In 1987, he won second prize at the Marguerite Long-Jacques Thibaud Competition. In 1989, he won second prize in the Paganini competition. In 1994, at the age of 23, he became the Royal Opera House's youngest concert presenter in London. In 2005, he debuted as a conductor at the Royal Albert Hall in London. He has graduated Masters of violinist classes at Royal College of Music, Trinity College of Music and at the Spanish Conservatory. In 2010, he wrote his autobiography Vasko @ 40. In 2011, he became a judge on the reality TV show X Factor.
