Velvet McIntyre is a retired Irish-Canadian professional wrestler. After starting her career in 1980, she wrestled in American indie promotions before joining the World Wrestling Federation. She has played against The Fabulous Moolah and Sherri Martel, and held the WWF Women's Championship and the WWF Women's Team Championship. After a hiatus at the WWF Women's Division in the 1990s, McIntyre wrestled in a number of Canadian promotions, holding several championships. McIntyre wore wrestling shoes for the first 4 years of her career, but then wrestled barefoot when someone took one of her boots as a joke and she was forced to wrestle without them. Barefoot wrestling then became one of his trademarks, as well as his high-flying exercises.
