Walther Nernst
Walther Hermann Nernst is a German chemist known for his work in thermodynamics, physical chemistry, electrochemistry and solid-state physics. His formulation of Nernst's thermal theorem helped pave the way for the third law of thermodynamics, for which he won the Nobel Prize in chemistry in 1920. He is also known to have developed the Nernst equation in 1887.
