Lee Lawrie
Lee Oscar Lawrie was one of the greatest architectural sculptors in the United States and a key figure in American art before World War II. During his long career with over 300 roses, Lawrie's style evolved through Modern Gothic, Fine Arts, Classicalism and eventually Modern or Art Deco. He created a relief on the Nebraska State Capitol building in Lincoln, Nebraska, including a description of the Declaration of Liberation announcement. He also created some of his most important sculptures and architectural works, the Independent Bronze Atlas at Rockefeller Center in New York City. Lawrie's work is linked to some of the most important buildings in the United States during the first half of the 20th century. His stylistic approach evolved with styles constructed from Fine Arts to Neo-Gothic via Art Deco.
